Instant setting adjustment with Hydroset system for wear compensation and product size alteration

Hydroset Control

This consists of a robust hydraulic jack which supports and adjusts the mainshaft assembly. Setting adjust- ment can be carried out by one man in less than a minute. Hydroset control has been successfully used for several decades.

Setting decrease: Oil is pumped from the oil tank to the Hydroset cylinderand raises the mande until the desired setting obtained.

Setting increase: Oil is allowed to flow back to the oil tank and the mantle is lowered until the desired setting is obtained.

Automatic overload protection

Built in to the Hydroset system is an overload protection device which allows the mantle to sink to permit passage of scrap iron and other uncrushable materials. When the uncrushable material has passed through the crushing chamber the mantle is automatically raised to its original position.

A HEART

Oil is forced out from the Hydroset cylinder to the accumulator so that the mantle sinks to allow uncrushable objects to pass through the crusher. The gas pressure in the accumulator forces the oil back to the Hydroset cylinder as soon as the object has left the crushing chamber.

Quick-emptying crushingchamber

If a sudden power failure stops the crusher under load, the mantle can be lowered so that the crushing chamber can be easily emptied. The concave ring can easily be rotated to even out wear.

Remote setting indication and adjustment

A remote setting indication system can be supplied as an optional extra for subord cone and superior crushers. A special Hydrosel tank is used and is fitted with a setting transducer which is electrically connected to a remote selling indication unit so that the crusher setting can be displayed in the plant’s control room. The setting can Then be remotely adjusted by a pushbutton-controlled pump and solenoid valve.

Automatic control systems

MAHYAR CRUSHER CO. Can supply an automatic setting regulation system as an optional extra for subord cone and superior crushers. The system automatically monitors the motor power, the Hydroset pressure and the setting, and automatically regulates the latter in accordance with the load on the crusher. This gives optimum crusher utilization and considerably improved crushing results. Also available for special applications is another system which controls both the feed and the setting. These systems are described in a separate leaflet.

Extreme fine crushing

After extensive trials, MAHYAR CRUSHER CO. have developed a system for extreme fine crusher with the 36″ subord cone crusher. This new method involves a modified 2-36″ or 4-36″ crusher and an automatic sat- ting regulation system and has proved to be ideal for the production of 0-4 mm material, for example. Both capacity and product quality are improved. see separate leaflet.

 3 Automatic external lubrication system, with split- flow maintains a positive circulation of oil around step bearing, bushings, and gears. Independently controlled, this constant pressure system maintains lubrication at all times, even during shutdown if desired. Oil passing through external system is filtered and cooled automatically.

The capacities given above in MTPH are average values and apply for open circuit crushing of dry material weighing approx. 1.6 t/m3, from which material smaller than the C.S.S. has been screened out.

When selecting a C.S.S. in one of the coloured areas, contact us first, since the operation of the crusher at these setting depends on the ratio of reduction, the size analysis of the feed material, the arrangement of any closed circuit and the crushability of the material.

Product Curve

The product analysis depends on many factors, amongst which are the C.S.S., the crushing chamber design and the type of material being crushed. Over the years we have accumulated a lot of data about product curves, and for most applications, the curves given at the bottom of the page give good approximations of the product which can be expected. In general, the product curve is directly related to the C.S.S., and the percentage of the product which will be smaller than the C.S.S is normally as shown in the table below.

Minimum C.S.S.

The normal minimum recommended C.S.S is determined by the crushing chamber and the eccentric throw. Guide values are given in the table below:

Feed arrangements

For all crushing chamber designs material smaller than the C.S.S. should be screened out from the feed and we recommend a vibrating feeder ahead of the crusher. To ensure high capacity high reduction and low wear it is essential that the crusher is evenly fed and that the feed is evenly distributed all around the feed opening. Special attention should therefore be paid to the design of the feeding system.
